The IntelliMapLab innovation laboratory was opened at Lviv University on the initiative of Intellias
On October 11, on the occasion of the Lviv University Day at the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Informatics of the Lviv University, with the assistance of the IT company Intellias, the scientific and practical laboratory IntelliMapLab was opened. This is a unique innovative educational space where our students, under the mentorship of Intellias specialists, will be able to create solutions that will define the future of the automotive industry.
During the ceremonial opening of the laboratory, Vitaliy Kuharskyi, vice-rector for scientific-pedagogical work and informatization of Lviv University, gave a welcome speech: "Today, the IT industry is among the leaders, it is an example of how business should develop. And at the same time, the IT sphere shows how to cooperate with universities. The initiative of Intellias and Lviv University is an important step in the joint development of science and industry. The opening of this laboratory is evidence of how a modern educational space can interact with technological achievements, making the University an important centre for the development of science, innovative solutions, and the future in general."
The laboratory was equipped with modern equipment for a comfortable educational process. IntelliMapLab provides 25 workplaces for students and a lecturer.
In general, it will primarily be attended by students of technical specialities who have registered for the "IntelliMapLab" course. Within this project, students will gain theoretical knowledge and practical experience creating maps in NDS (Navigation Data Standard) format for car navigation systems.

The IntelliMapLab educational project for students of Lviv University is exactly the kind of space in which you want to learn and grow," said Roman Gapachilo, VP, of Talent Management at Intellias.
The curriculum of the course consists of two parts - Training lab and Product lab. The theoretical part of the Training lab will last two months and will include lectures by Intellias experts. During the practical part of the Product lab, teams of students under the mentorship of Intellias specialists will perform technical tasks, working on a real project in agile teams. Course participants will use the Java and Scala languages and the Spark, GraphX, Sedona and JTS libraries.
For students, this is a good opportunity not only to get cool practical experience in creating navigation maps but also to successfully get a job in the company. After the end of the project, the best participants of the course will be able to undergo an interview at Intellias for the position of developer. Enrollment for the program is open, so all interested seniors in technical majors are welcome to apply for this major.
In general, the Intellias IT company launches educational projects every year and regularly holds thematic webinars. Since 2021, it has been operating the IntelliStart educational hub, which provides an opportunity to study current technical areas for free. In 2022-2023, Intellias successfully implemented the Junior Stream program, the participants of which focused on learning Java and Scala.
